One of the favorite stops we made was to The Wilkes House. It's only open Mon.-Fri. from 11-2 and they serve up southern food, family-style. We got there at about 11 and the line was all the way down the block already! We ended up waiting for a little over an hour, but it was so worth it. I couldn't believe how much food they served us! Definitely enough for even the pickiest eater to find plenty of things they liked. Check out these pics:

This first picture is of the line going down the block...and the next picture is of our table with all the yummy food! You may start drooling now.

So being pregnant, I had to have one near-meltdown moment on our trip. Later that night after we had eaten at Mrs. Wilkes', we didn't want to do much for dinner so we decided to stop at this little pizza place in City Market. Instead of ordering a whole pizza, Rey and I each ordered 2 slices of pizza....not realizing that each slice was going to be bigger than our heads! The problem was, we were sitting at a teeny, tiny table for two (seriously no bigger than about 18" in diameter) and they brought us each of our slices on it's own plate. So we were trying to balance 4 plates on this super small table and it just wasn't happening. You would think that the guy who brought out our pizza would have seen that this was going to be a problem and that he would do something to fix it, but no...he left us to manage on our own. I took one cut into my first slice, the balancing plate tipped, and down it went onto the floor. I was SO mad. I was mad at the waitress for not warning us about how big the slices were (since anyone in their right mind would not try to fit 4 of them on this itty bitty table) and I was mad at the guy who delivered our food and I was just mad at the situation. And then after the anger passed, I nearly busted out crying right at our table! Crisis narrowly avoided!
Most of what we did during our days in Savannah was to walk around and just look at all the scenery and architecture. We also stopped in Forsyth Park during an Arts Festival they were having. Students of the College of Arts & Design had made chalk drawings all over the sidewalks in the park. Here are a couple of my favorites:
After the park, we headed over to St. John's Cathedral. One of the most beautiful churches I've ever been in!

The last night we were there we ate dinner at a really nice italian restaurant called Il Pasticcio. I had the lobster and truffle ravioli...mmmm! While we were there, literally about 50 couples on their way to prom came in and went to the private dining room upstairs. It was pretty crazy watching all the tuxes and dresses parade in.
After doing so much in a short amount of time, it feels pretty good to be back home just relaxing!
