Hadley found the golden egg!

Every Easter it is a tradition in my family to have a big Easter egg hunt. This is an egg hunt for all ages - we don't just do it for the little kids. In fact, it's really more for the adults because it can get vicious. You have to be prepared to get knocked out of the way for an egg and if you're too slow, you'll most definitely have people run in front of you and grab the eggs in your path. Where it REALLY gets crazy is when everyone starts hunting the golden egg. It is always hidden in a really good hiding place and it typically comes down to the hider having to give clues as to its whereabouts. There have been years where we've had family members wrestling in the dirt for the egg if that gives you any clue about this egg hunt.

So naturally, I figured that the pregnant lady would be out of the running for the golden egg this year. I certainly was not going to risk being knocked down or getting an elbow in the belly. But as luck would have it, I found it!! And I didn't even end up in the middle of a wild fray. I think maybe Hadley helped. :-)

So this year, my name goes on the trophy - and yes, we actually have a trophy for the golden egg finder. It looks like an Oscar and it has the past winners names engraved on the bottom of it. The trophy goes back to 1991 although we've been doing the egg hunt for a lot longer than that. This is my first Easter as a Del Valle so we'll be adding a new last name to the trophy. Pretty cool.
