A day at the Ritz!

This past Saturday, my parents had invited us to come out and spend the day with them at the Ritz Carlton on Lake Oconee. We had never been to that one before but it was beautiful! Thankfully, it turned out to be a gorgeous day and we spent a good chunk of it by the infinity pool and lake. Hadley went for her first swim while we were there, and while she wasn't too sure about it at first, I think she started enjoy it after a few minutes. She didn't last very long, though....I think it was a combo of her being tired and also her arms started to get kinda pink. I was pretty surprised at that since she'd only been in the sun for maybe 30 minutes and we had put SPF 50 on her but I guess that sensitive baby skin just can't handle it. After her swim, I put her down on one of the lounge chairs and she looked about as chilled out as she could be. It was too cute!

10 months old

Hadley is 10 months old and I can hardly believe it. I'm actually starting to plan her 1st birthday which is just crazy to me...it has flown by! Poor little thing has been dealing with some pretty bad teething pains in the last week or so and she's always wanting to eat what mommy eats lately. If I eat anything in front of her, she's crawling over to me and either looking up at me expectantly or flat out trying to grab my plate! I usually let her try things she can manage...small pieces of cooked veggies, chicken, fruits and sometimes she gets an animal cracker or two for a snack. She still expects me to actually put it in her mouth, though. If I give her a food to hold in her hand, she just smushes it and makes it all nasty instead of eating it. But of course, anything she plays with automatically goes in her mouth. Maybe she's confused! :-)

You may notice how she's all over the place in these pictures...the girl does not sit still! I have no idea how people can get a bunch of photos of their 10 month old baby sitting in the same spot. Hadley certainly won't oblige!

Hadley's first kiss

Last weekend, we got together with our friends, Chris and Amanda and their little boy, Jackson (he's 3 months older than Hadley). Now that both kids are pretty mobile, they were really able to play together and it was so fun to watch them interact! They were playing with the toys together, crawling after each other, and even hugging and kissing!! Hadley got her first kiss from a boy...and then a few minutes later, she gave him one back! I couldn't believe it - especially since Hadley is not quick to give kisses...even to her Mom and Dad. It was all completely innocent, of course...but we still told Hadley that there was to be no more kissing boys for a LONG, LONG time! We're not ready for that yet!

Keeping mommy busy!

I'm spending more and more time these days following after Hadley making sure she doesn't hurt herself or get into something she shouldn't. Probably the hardest thing is keeping her from pulling everything off the tables! Here's a video of her walking around the ottoman today:

9 month photos

You may notice in a couple of the photos that she's got a mark under her left eye. I'm still not sure how she got it, but I think she scratched herself. It's just a bad spot because it almost looks like she has a black eye.

Hadley is making her way towards walking...she is starting to walk around the ottoman in our family room while she holds onto it. And she's gotten really speedy with the crawling. Our cats have to keep on their toes now! She sets her sights on one of them and starts crawling after them....it's so cute!

You can't catch a shadow

I caught Hadley noticing her shadow yesterday and just had to share:
