9 month stats

Hadley's 9 month checkup was on Monday....we did it about a week late since I didn't want her to get a shot right before we left for our trip just in case she had a bad reaction to it. Here are her latest stats:

Weight: 18lbs., 10 oz. - 43rd percentile
Height: 27 inches - 27th percentile
Head Circumference: 18 inches - 89th percentile

She's gone up in percentile for weight and down in height although I suspect that may change some at her next checkup since I don't think the nurse measured her height correctly. Hadley's brains must be huge...she keeps going up in percentile for head circumference! :-)

The doctor said she's doing really well, meeting milestones on time and she is very healthy. She pulls up on everything now...once she learned how to do it, that's all she wants to do! She even bounces up and down sometimes while she's standing and it looks like she's dancing. She's a good eater and an even better sleeper (Hooray!). We are truly blessed to have a such a sweet (and healthy) girl.

Smoky Mountains trip

This past weekend, we went to a cabin in Pigeon Forge, TN for 4 days with my parents, Paul and his girlfriend, Kelly. The cabin was beautiful - great views, nicely decorated, super comfy beds AND a hot tub overlooking the mountains! We went into Gatlinburg and checked out the aquarium and some of the cute little shops but mostly we just tried to do a lot of relaxing.

I have to admit I was pretty nervous about the trip because Hadley had never really travelled in the car for more than about 2 hours at a time and she hadn't slept in her pack n' play before, either. I was so worried that she wouldn't sleep well and would therefore be cranky and crying the whole time. Thankfully, she couldn't have been better! She was basically perfect. She travelled wonderfully, and slept great. It really made the trip much more relaxing for us all.

Here are some photos from our trip:

We enjoyed the cabin so much, we're going back in October when the leaves should be gorgeous!

Hadley's first haircut

On her 9 month birthday (Saturday, 5/14) Hadley got her first haircut. I'm guessing that not too many babies need to get their first haircuts at 9 months, but as you can see, it was a necessity for Hads!

Here she is BEFORE the haircut:

During the haircut:

And here she is AFTER:

I don't really have a great shot of the back of her hair yet...she always turns her face towards the camera when I try to take a picture! Her hair still covers her neck, but now it's one length and it doesn't go down her back anymore. Can you see her two little teeth in this last picture?

No dentures for Hadley!

Aaaand....we have teeth!! I've been waiting to see Hadley's first teeth for a few months now and she finally started teething this week. I can definitely see the tops of two teeth on the bottom and it looks like she's got two coming in on the top, too! So far, she hasn't had too much pain, but occasionally it has really bothered her and she'll fuss and cry. She hated the Baby Orajel but Infant Tylenol seems to do the trick. She also has figured out how to stand up using her sit-to-stand walker toy to pull up on. It has been a big week!

Yesterday was my first Mother's Day since Hadley was born and I got to enjoy a nice day with my family. Rey made me breakfast in bed and then after we had eaten and gotten Hadley fed, we went to visit his parents for awhile. That afternoon, Rey, Hadley and I went out to lunch at the Forum (a really nice outdoor shopping center) and then we walked around to all the stores. It was just a nice, relaxing day. :-)

Updates

I have gotten pretty bad about blogging lately...so to those of you who check it regularly - Sorry! Work has picked up immensely and between my job, taking care of Hadley and just all the usual stuff I have to do, there's not much time for blogging at the moment. Hadley is zipping around now, crawling all over the place and often following after me if I leave the room. She even pulled up to standing for the first time 2 days ago! She was using the railing of her crib so, for her safety, I asked Rey to lower the mattress down that same day because I was so afraid of her trying to lean over the edge and fall out. She hasn't managed to pull up using the edge of the couch or the ottoman yet since it doesn't give her anything to grasp but I can tell she'll be standing up in her play pen any day now.

I think I may have to give in soon and take Hadley for a haircut. She has gotten really bad about pulling out the bows I put in her hair and since her hair is so long, it just falls in her face. I don't know how she can even see!

8 month photos

I'm quite a bit late with these....but here are Hadley's 8 month photos!
