I went back to the doctor on Monday because of the swelling in my hands and feet and I thought I should have my blood pressure checked. It was kinda high but they didn't seem too concerned. While I was there, they went ahead and did another cervical exam and found that I was 3 to 4 centimeters dilated and 80% effaced! The doctor said I was "right at ready" and could go into labor any time. Music to my ears!
Last night I was having contractions all through the night and into this morning. Since I thought this must surely mean I would need to head to the hospital today, I went ahead and got up around 5am to take a shower and finish packing the last few things in my hospital bag. Needless to say, I barely got any sleep because of the contractions and now they've stopped! I had them for several hours but they never really got to regular intervals. My doctor says I need to have them every 5 minutes for 2 hours before I call them. These started out about every 20 minutes, then went to about every 10...but then they were all over the place. Every 12 minutes, 8 minutes, 10 minutes, 5 minutes...etc. I am so disappointed. I thought I'd be holding my baby probably by this evening and now I'm still sitting at home. :-(

SO exciting!!! I'm sure it won't be much longer. Try and get some sleep tonight :)
